I bought my '92 Typhoon from a dealer in Boulder, Colorado who had a large selection at the end of the first model year. He ran an ad in Car & Driver to sell them and I called to find a white one because the only ones I could find at the time were black or red. When I called, that dealer had five of the \"Easter Egg\" Teal color cars, and he offered me a huge discount if I took one of those instead because he was having trouble selling them. That's when I learned he had a Forest Green Metallic one in his inventory, so I took that one (1 of 82 in 1992) instead of the white one I wanted (which he also had). If so, I might come by and look at it. When I was buying mine in August of '92, the GM dealer in Boulder was so desperate to sell those Teal Typhoons that he said he'd be willing to have it painted a different color. In retrospect, I wish I'd gotten him to paint one Aspen Blue Metallic! As you probably know, that was the rarest of the original colors (only 28). In fact, my Forest Green Metallic was the color GM chose to replace the Aspen Blue Metallic in that first model year, which is why there were only 82 of those in '92 (but more in '93). I had that color on a prior Corvette, so as soon as the dealer gave me that option, the white one I thought I wanted was an afterthought. I flew to Denver to pick mine up and drive it back to Arizona. It was my daily driver for about six years and it now has just under 75K miles on it. I'm in the middle of getting the Turbo rebuilt, so mine's not running right now. It has a mild performance chip that overrides the factory pre-sets (rev limiter and speed governor), but I haven't done anything else to it. The tranny was rebuilt under the factory warranty, but since then I've only had to put a new fuel pump in it. Other than that, it's been pretty much bullet-proof, and it's one of my all-time favorites to drive.
