I believe this is auction #361 on Bring a Trailer.\r\n\r\nAlso, today is a special day for us, 20th anniversary of Denwerks :) I remember exactly what I was doing on June 7, 2003. On June 6, 2003, I told @denwerks to quit his day job and that we should go into business full time for ourselves. At the time we had 6, 4, and 1 year old daughters and I was a stay at home mom. \r\n\r\nOn June 7, he shipped out a Ford Fairlane he had sold, and while he was at it, sold our other Ford Fairlane to the truck driver. Our name at the time was Blue Oval Ranch, so that was the day that Blue Oval Ranch was officially born, later to become Denwerks. \r\n\r\nHe started working on buying and selling cars and parts that very day with our dial up internet, and that has been his full time job ever since June 7, 2003. \r\n\r\nI have always been involved since the beginning, usually the boring paperwork stuff, and about 2 years ago, I told him I was bored of the boring stuff and that I wanted to have fun too. \r\n\r\nI had a day job by that point, in addition to support stuff for Denwerks, and Jason gave me the same gift I gave him, and said, just quit, and have fun with me. So I did the same thing he did, quit that day, and the next, I was full time with Jason.\r\n\r\nI started finding some of my own cars and trucks to sell, rather than just being the support person, and here we are. I fell in love with the Ford trucks along the way, amongst other things, but the Ford trucks are special favorites of mine to learn about and sell. (Love Ramblers too, but that's another story)\r\n\r\nWe always work together, but we do usually have our own projects in the midst of that, and it's fun. We work together, we compete a little bit, and we get to have date nights and family time after work together. \r\n\r\nI've always believed 1,000,000% in what we are doing and I have always loved the vehicles we sell, and the customers we meet along the way. We are having more fun than ever, and ready for new adventures every day. We now have 4 kids and the youngest graduated from high school this week so all he's ever known is Denwerks. All the equipment is there, and the compressor does work, and the system is all complete. We charged it, and it blew cold and pump turned on, it held overnight and then the next day it stopped blowing cold. So it seems there is a seep in the system somewhere. We don't do AC repairs at our shop, but it's possible that some sealer could do the trick can't guarantee that of course, but it's a thought. The good thing is that the equipment is all there. This old beastie is most certainly not equipped with \"barrier hoses\" which weren't used until the very late 80s a few years before 134A was introduced. In the old days standard A/C hose was made a lot like hydraulic hose with a standard rubber interior. They found out molecules of 134A are much smaller than R12 molecules & in time would seep straight thru the hose. This required making hoses with a nylon, Teflon or some other polymer interior to create a barrier from refrigerant escaping. The truck appears to still have the original 1/4\" flare fittings for the high & low side ports so I assume you charged it with an R12 substitute. Most of the substitutes are just 134A with an additive to allow compatibility with the mineral oil present in an R12 system. I believe there were some substitutes marketed at 1 time that were just propane, which is basically what 1234yf is now \ud83e\udd26\u200d\u2642\ufe0f The whole thing is another sham.\r\n\r\nAnyway, point is adding a sealant will not fix a hose issue or condenser breach. Those are some of the worst things to ever be marketed for an A/C system. At best they may temporarily seal the leak enough to get a car sold. They're terrible about clogging up evaporator & especially newer parallel flow condenser passages. Fix it right unless you're flipping or don't care if it lasts. If it were mine, I'd renew it all including hoses up to the evaporator, flush the evaporator out with denatured alcohol then convert it to 134A along with the correct orifice tube. It\u2019s comfortable and I like that it\u2019s a 4x4 that can also be driven anywhere, ride height is good and ready for literally anything you want to do, whether a daily, towing, hauling, 4x4, or a night on the town. \r\n\r\nIt\u2019s starts easily and love the diesel sound in this one too - sounds tough. \r\n\r\nPic 281 is the Marti Report so you can take a look at the history in detail of this truck, one thing I noticed is that only 241 with these paint and trim codes - I don\u2019t know how many of those 241 F250 XLT Lariat\u2019s were diesels, but it\u2019s got to be a pretty low number. Mine hauls hay and tows a dump trailer full of manure, and the lovely diesel rattle and the firm ride are just as pleasing as my Boxster at 6500 RPM under an overpass. If you need a loyal, hard working truck, don\u2019t worry about the price.
