This is going to be fun to explain, and I get it, this application isn't all that obvious! Ferrari and Cobra knock off applications are right hand threads on the left and left hand threads on the right, we know that. As it happens the splined hubs and the threads are the same on Ferrari as are 289 wire wheel Cobra's. Only the lengths configure a bit different between the cars. Indeed typically wire wheel knock off's clamp on the wheel center OD where the Halibrands used a 60 degree taper line to line inside clamp for alloy applications. The unique thing here is these wheels are spline drive utilizing the Halibrand style knock off since they are alloy. These are proper vintage style \"fun run\" wheels with offsets to completely go under the car fitting Hoosier 245x60x15 tires mounted on 8\" fronts and 8.5\" rears. Over the years I manufactured hundreds of sets of spline drive wheels for 289 Cobras generally in either the FIA or Kidney Bean style but not so much the S/C style. This 427 S/C style set are a two piece construction, very lite by the way and clamp the same way all original Cobras do. The only set I ever made because I could, and it was fun too. I can tell you I took my C4 to California Speedway with these wheels on and ran around during a vintage race weekend noon time fun run. They worked great! Had to have been the shade from over at the airport where I hang out. Such a safe place it's my go to since my airplane is there too. Any way there is no shade difference in the pitch or face of color in the frontal area you spoke of. Left front I shot to show the aging patina, shrink not color.
