This 1720 on auction is the same long term model line that ended production circa 2000. This 1720 was built in Japan with a variety on components. It has the longer stroke/lower rev design ethos of older, well built machines. It has the manual gearbox with shuttle shift that offers reliability of a manual and ease of Fwd/Rvs when working. Also avoids potential cold weather sluggish shifting of hydrostatic types. This is a personal thing - we all have our preferences. It was garaged kept and according to the estate always washed after every use. \n\nThe PTO looks to have never been used. I own a more modern JD 3020 (4wd) that I bought to cut my pastures and do general chores since my 79\u2019 Ford 2600 (2wd) would get stuck all the time in my soggy fields. Thing is, you need a kidney belt to cut my flat pastures on the JD. The experience is too jarring to make it much fun. So I still do most of my cutting on the Ford, with the seat kill switch disconnected (I know\u2026) so I can stand up every so often. This rig is close to me and could be a nice compromise with the bigger footprint than the JD. Now back to my first sentence. It pains me already when the Ford doesn\u2019t get regular barn time with all the other toys I keep buying.
