This Ranchero was supplied from the factory with air conditioning so everything behind the firewall is already there. The heater, fan and controls work but it will require a compressor, condenser, dryer and rubbers hoses.\r\n I would buy a Sanden 508 style compressor ($150) and modern 134 style condenser ($100) If you did the work yourself figure around $700. If you take it to a shop, you should double that. I did this with my El Camino.\r\nI never got around to it with the Ranchero as I have other cars with A/C and if it's really hot I just take those. Rancheros were unibodies from 1960 to 1971. In 1972 they went to a ladder-on-frame. They can tow up to 6000 lbs and have a bed capacity of around 1200 lbs. The other thing cool about this Ranchero is the motor. The 400 is basically just a stroked Cleveland and you can do all the Cleveland mods, including aftermarket aluminum heads.
