These old W124 cars were the best. Yes, this one has a few flaws. The ones that I see are small. This car appears to have been well cared for, which is very important in a Mercedes.\r\n\r\nI bought an '88 300ce last fall for about $5K that has far fewer miles, but that isn't in nearly as nice condition. I've collected $2K in suspension parts over the winter and stored them in the trunk until it's warm enough to tear the thing apart. The front seats are at my local upholstery shop and I expect that part of the rebuild to cost another $2K. \r\n\r\nFrom the restoration work that I've done to date, I'm VERY impressed with the quality of these old cars. I chose the in-line 6, only because the V8 looked too hard to work on. I gave up horsepower for serviceability. These cars currently go for peanuts, but are oh, so classy. I expect to have about $12K to $15K in the car when I'm done.
