It is pretty rare to find a Figaro with absolutely no rust (Japan being an island and so many Figgy's are left outside) and this one has no rust at all. Pretty much 90% will have had some type of repaint (and often times not the best). This repaint in a non-original color was done quite nicely. Also, notice - no cracks on the dash (another rarity with Figaro's since Nissan painted the dashes). I have driven this car and it drives and shifts beautifully. The interior on this car is not rough at all. Fine leather creases are relatively normal. A lot of Figaros come over with extremely sun damaged interior (especially on the top of the back seat - almost a given). Another area in a lot of Figaros that you will see interior issues is at the top right part of the driver's seat. Often there will be a tear (sometimes an actual junk missing) there because that is where the seatbelt hits. Honestly the interior on this one is above average to most of them. Top shrinkage is also a given due to the type of material Nissan used. Marine quality tops are available from The Figaro Club in England for a fair price. The rear window surround is metal covered in vinyl. Many times you will find rust here due to the design. There is absolutely no rust on this one.\r\n\r\nAnother sore spot on Figaros is the shifter. They all shift fine, but often you will have to jiggle the shifter a little to find the gear (especially true for reverse). This one clicks into all gears perfectly.\r\n\r\nThe Figaro radio is unique but those Clarion stereos, at this age usually have problems (I have only been around 3 where both the radio and the CD player both worked). You can get an updated original type stereo (with Bluetooth and the ability to pick up US stations) from The Figaro Club. This is one of the reasons you will often find non-original radios in all of the Pike cars. The Clarion (used in the Figaro and Be-1) and the Panasonic (in the Pao) have just not held up that well after 26+ years.\r\n\r\nFinally, yes it is true that original colors are the best, but again it is extremely rare to find a Figaro that has not had some type of repaint on a fender, etc. Because so many Figaros are parked on the streets in Japan, dents are inevitable and matching the original color is often not perfect. The only one on BAT that had a lower bid price was a much rougher Lapis Grey one with over 120k miles. Had this been a no rust Emerald Green one with that low of miles it could have easily gone for twice as much. It really is a popular color amongst the non original colors and it is actually my favorite color, hence why I bought it in the first place. As somebody mentioned below, I too am one of those people that think black looks good on most cars, especially on the Figaro. Although a lot of people in the comments thread preferred the original colors, there was obviously a lot of people that supported the black color as well. Because of the support I received on BaT in this comments thread, the trend Identified of other people too having black Figaros, and just overall the high quality condition of this car, I believe this car is worth well over the final bid received.
