I don\u2019t want to continue to derail the auction with this off topic chatter, so this will be my last post on the topic. \r\n\r\nJerry Seinfeld is an extremely well known Porsche collector. His collection includes some of the rarest and finest examples of the marque. He also has the means to maintain and repair his cars at the highest level. My guess is that just about any Porschephile on BAT would be pleased to obtain a p-car previously owned by Seinfeld. Hence, someone selling a Seinfeld Porsche would likely advertise this fact in bold letters (or in the headline of the ad). It just makes sense as Seinfeld provenance is going to add value to the Porsche.\r\n\r\nNow Kevin Hart on the other hand, while having an impressive car collection, is not known as an enthusiast to the same level as Seinfeld. Keep in mind, he may be a regular Eli Whitney when it comes to Bugatti Veyrons, but if so, it is NOT common knowledge. So Kevin Hart provenance, while interesting, is not something that is going to add value to the vehicle. That\u2019s why the seller mentions this fact in the ad copy, but doesn\u2019t trumpet it in the headline. Additionally, I believe Kevin Hart has been involved in several major car accidents. Not in this car mind you. However the very fact that he has been involved in accidents in the past MIGHT be enough to scare a buyer away. Again, that\u2019s why Hart\u2019s ownership is mentioned in the copy but not in the headline. It just doesn\u2019t add any value to the car.\r\n\r\nBottom line, celebrity ownership rarely increases the desirability of an automobile. There are exceptions - an Al Capone or Elvis Presley Cadillac. Or the white Bronco OJ Simpson drove (although this is historic value as opposed to celebrity ownership - something totally different). I think there was a Lexus LS 400 previously owned by Bill Gates listed here. While it brought strong money, I don\u2019t believe it was outside of book value.
