As for the steering wheel it is one of my favorite ford units ( i had one on my mk1 ford capri ) the 2 spoke unit of the similar style always looked cheap and down market whereas these 3 spoke units looked cool. Basil Green Ford in South Africa (of capri perana fame ) put the 3.0 Essex V6 in these back in the day and were know as perana cortinas. Last time i looked there were a few that came up on you tube. It should also have a 1500 pre-crossflow engine, not a 1600 Crossflow. A 1967 should have trailing arms on the rear axel, which help with both tramp and lateral location. They make a big difference in elimination of roll steer from the leaf springs.\r\n\r\nThe RS Rims are awesome. My '67 GT has 5.5\" Lotus Cortina steelies. \r\n\r\nI know that Ford didn't make all of the annual changes at once, but this looks like a '68. A '67 even had different window cranks and inside door handles, and a '68 still had low back seats. \r\n\r\nIts a fantantic looking car. I have a '68 4 door GT which I believe came stock with an ivory exterior and red interior, and no high back seats. It also came with an air pump too, and was sold originally in the Bay area. \r\n\r\nI like the wood dash and add on to the console. My '68 has no glove compartment in the dash, by the way, and it isn't very nice. The dash on this car is MUCH nicer looking. 1967 had a really cool steel dash with a pad only on the top of it. \r\n\r\nOne of mine runs 185 70-13s and the other 205 60-13. One just over 4000 at 70 on GPS, the other just under. The 1500 has a shorter stroke, and is less thrashy at higher RPMs, but less powerful.\r\n\r\nThe spin on oil filter is a nice upgrade that requires a different oil pump. The coolant expansion tank is a nice sensible add on too. I think this is a really great Cortina, personally. Good luck with the sale. Seller, could you confirm if it has trailing arms?\r\n\r\nMy '68 was used for SCCA autocrossing for years in D Street Prepared. It did pretty well. 135 horse Ivy crossflow. Two stock front sway bars clamped together for roll stiffness, Konis, and station wagon springs in back (conventional wisdom is softer springs in back, but I was too hard headed to do mine that way, and the '68 didn't have the trailing arms and roll steer happens).\r\n\r\nAgain, this just looks like a really great car. The semi close transmission gearing is super useful and fun compared to wat every MK 1 GT came with. It was ivory with a black GT stripe and a black vinyl roof and red seats and door cards. I'm 98% sure it didn't have a wood dash. It did have aux gauges in a pod at the top of the dash and the steering wheel was a completely different three spoke affair with a big pad on the hub. Mine also had a much smaller console arrangement that did not extend up to the dash. This one is almost certainly nicer than mine was and I'd love to have it but the interior is very different from what I remember. \n\nI \"fixed it up\" with painted Capri steel wheels and 185/70 Dunlops and a Formula Ford and Cortina guy who lived in the Oakland Hills sold me some performance parts and installed them. We had the same physics teacher and using an article in Road & Track on how to figure your car's horsepower using a stopwatch, we wrote a paper together, the research of which required we spend a lot of time in a large parking lot. \nOne thing led to another and I can testify to the song lyrics preference for the column shift, but the back seat is pretty generous for activities other than driving. \nWe followed the protocol in the article, used the formulas, did the timings (reach a speed, coast and see how long it took to both accelerate, slow down etc etc till you had averages for drag, power etc. It was wordy and yet the right vocabulary enough that we both got 'A's and my girl's mother traded it in for the next generation for her. Since I was not very bright in my early 20's, I pulled the 1600 motor out when the car had about 96K trouble free miles on it and replaced it with a 2 liter Pinto motor. I think the car was actually slower with the Pinto engine. I'm sure my car and pretty much all the other Cortinas sold in the US has gone to the big garage in the sky.
