It's about as nice a W123 wagon as I've ever seen, and it is THE best I've ever driven (best driving W123 sedan or wagon I've ever experienced). I drove it about three hours from Nazareth, PA back to my building in Horseheads, NY, about 3 hours on the highway, some stop and go, but mostly cruising at 70mph with the cruise control on and A/C blasting in mid August. It was awesome. \r\n\r\nLong time California car: To the best of our knowledge the car was in California from new until it was moved to Pennsylvania in 2017. We got some help with this from Charles Allison at the MB Classic Center in Irvine. If you look at the VMI (Vehicle Master Inquiry) from Mercedes-Benz (in the records), the 'Selling Dealer' number is 05709. Charles tells us that dealer no longer exists but, the dealer number, one higher and one lower than that number are both California dealers, so he believes this was sold new by a dealer in California. The only thing the Carfax tells us is that it was in CA in 1999. Andrew Villasenor bought it from someone in California and the general condition, especially of the undercarriage, supports this claim. \r\n\r\nAmazingly, the interior isn't fried, like so many long time California cars. Door panels aren't warped, etc. There are a couple of tiny dash cracks, one by the passenger's side outboard vent, another on the right side of the instrument binnacle, but the interior is in extremely nice condition, everything is photographed, like a crime scene. Be sure to look at all the photos.\r\n\r\nI'll make a video of the car starting and running this week and send to BaT to post. \r\n\r\nIf you're a real bidder and you want to see it and drive it, come have a look.
