It was a mid 129 series change with the 1994 model, not a mid year change. They changed the designation from 600SL to SL600 plus other minor changes. Also applies to the V8 (SL500). It may have been a change in optional or included items, or maybe some other cosmetic features. I'm not sure. They brought it to my attention on the VIN decoder. Thought it was interesting and wanted to pass it on. Probably more for marketing. It's interesting that it's on the decoder.
