This one, along with the last 2 sold are my personal favorites. While the example which sold for $800K had been driven less than 100 miles, for a buyer who plans to drive his car, this milage should be of no concern. I have seen and driven each of the four 812 variants. If you are the original owner who received the allotment, the best investment is the Comp A, followed by the Comp, GTS, then the SF. If one is a potential buyer on the secondary market, the \"bang for the buck\" is clearly in the reverse order. That is great for the coupe lover! I have had the pleasure of driving each of the 4 versions. While I have driven none on the track, that is, to me at least, the only way to explore the performance differences. All are absolutely wonderful to drive!! The Comps are lighter, tighter, with stiffer suspensions, and less comfortable. While I have never actually removed and stored the carbon fiber targa top on a Comp A, it seems like a task best performed by 2 people. Perhaps an owner will comment. Being a guy who likes $...if I could have gotten an allotment, I would have bought the Comp A!!! On the other hand, as a guy who loves convertibles (particularly those whose coupe tops come down with the flip of a switch), and who bought on the secondary market, the 812 GTS was the only real choice for me. A beautifully specced 812 Comp A was recently offered to me for $3.4M !!! A spectacular 812 GTS, while very expensive, can be had for around $600K-. I was not a math major in school, however, however, I will take the 812 GTS, keep the change, and drive it in total satisfaction! I think many people who buy these kind of cars are super busy people. Also, in many instances these kind of people have multiple collector cars. Often with a car like this it is a \u201c special occasion vehicle.\u201d Meaning you only drive them on a nice sunny day when you are on the mood to enjoy the car. 2,800 miles on a 2 plus year old car is not unusual. Some collector car insurance policies have a mileage limitation also. This one was used about average. I have a 997 Turbo I have driven a total of 4,000 miles in the last 8 years. Now that I have an F12 as well I will probably drive them both about 4-500 miles a year. For me I only drive them on a Sunday morning when the traffic is light and I can enjoy them. I live in an urban area and during the week there is too much traffic to stretch out a car like this. For me having the cars. Looking at them. Washing them and occasionally driving them is very satisfying. For me the thought of using one of these as a daily driving car makes no sense as the depreciation would be significant. Others feel that a Ferrari is made to be driven and put a lot of miles on them. I see the videos of people in Europe driving cars like this into the snow with ski racks in the alps. Every seller's dream is to have 2-3 motivated bidders with deep pockets. We recently saw a great example sell for $800K+!! The owner of this one which did not meet reserve , received his Comp A recently. The reality is that he could give away this 812 GTS, and still have a profit of perhaps $1.8M -$2M on the pair on the sale of the Comp A! I know few owners of Comp 812's who actually drive them very much. I am actually with them.
