But then another company in West Palm Beach Florida virtually duplicated the work that Foreign Cars did, including another engine out service, changing the same shift shaft seals, the rear main seal, the water pump etc. Then ANOTHER service center was charged with getting the car running correctly- all in a 500 mile distance. While this car should be good to go, the amount of duplicated work is almost frightening.\r\n\r\nLove to see a spirited test drive over a distance, instead of a few seconds of barely running the car. I came SO close to buying another White 83 BBi a few years back and unfortunately bought a 3000 mile TR instead. It's got nothing to do with dry sump even on an opposed engine after engine has run for a minute. Pull the Head and the edge of the piston will be clean if it's a ring problem. If the crown is clean it will be Valve guides or seals are the problem. Also, the spark plug will have buildup on one side of the ground electrode closest to the intake valve.
