You wer not prepared for 7300, the very first time. \r\nIn truth mine was a ride in a very tatty carbbed 1967S so the FI MIGHT just offer a bit more mid range. Unforgettable.\r\nA genuine full throttle video would make this car worth $10k-20k more, I would say. Just the first 3 gears. No need to be dangerous. \r\nWRT to the 911E statement, in tight twisties, even an autocross event, the E's softer camshafts and smaller ports make the tork peak flatter and MUCH wider, so you can pull thru a turn at 3200 much stronger than the S car. I think the E was 145 hp. I think the FI 911E cams were the same basic profile as the early Solex carbbed cars 1964-mid 1966. Weber carbbed 1966-68 cars ran so much sweeter than the fussy Solex 40PII overflow bowl setup, very few missed the better cams. Here we go into the last day, thanks to everyone who has thrown in a bid and all the comments. \r\n\r\nThroughout the week we have covered here in chat various topics like early 911 models, color combo, different options, etc. Overall I believe everyone is in line with what I would consider a \"driver quality\" example. Yes this isn't your $250K flawless 911S as has been mentioned crack in dash, paint isn't perfect (we've all seen better and a hell of a lot worse), pitting on the shift lever, etc. However, while all good to note I like the S for what it represents as an example not to scrutinize (not saying anyone is) but rather get in and go. I think we'd all agree the driving experience of these early 911s is like none other and what it is all about. \r\n\r\n@henning thanks for pointing out the options and rarity. Certainly one of the most highly optioned early 911s we've come across. A few other things I like of course the matching engine and transmission, authentic date stamped wheels, quality of interior, color combo, structurally sound and mechanically solid. Obviously I understand these are all essentially the normal things we all look too when vetting a purchase. My favorite thing about the subject 911 here is that it hasn't undergone a full restoration. Yes it sold cheap a couple years back (we think), but it is a much better 911 today due to the fact someone started throwing money at it. Essentially minus a set of plugs and a few other tweaks but it was developed from the same family of engines.\r\n\r\nThe torque curve is so high in the RPM band that even short drives to the supermarket feel like a stage on the best European hill climb you can think of. \r\n\r\nIn my experience, it is near impossible to drive slow in one of these and while money still favors the 67S and 73S, the 69S will always have the best Porsche ever offered from 67-73. First year of the LWB, last of the 2.-0-liter six engines and first year for the MFI! \r\n\r\nPure Porsche magic in my opinion...
