The stock suspension is very soft by today's standards. The Alfetta chassis has a fair bit of understeer that is easily correctable. Simply adding a stiffer rear sway bar limits body roll without compromising the supple ride. This car will cruise comfortably at 80 mph all day. This is the perfect car for long weekend car trips. The upgraded seats are a plus as is the Coupe steering wheel. I've owned 3 and won't sell the last one. Because it is a 5 digit odometer, it reads ~16k. Thus the listing terminology.\n\nWheels are what you see. This is what was on the car when I purchased it. If you look closely, the smog pump attachment is on the exhaust manifold, and there were no additional items there in 2003, and I know CA is quite strict about the original equipment being in place. So it is possible that the 1978 version of smog correct is different from the 1975? \r\n\r\nAs for insurance, I use American Collectors, which is a pleasure use-only policy. A 4-1 exhaust manifold with catalyst was added by 1979 for 49-state cars. This car has a 4-1 exhaust manifold of a pre-1977 California car. I believe all versions had the heat transfer pipe and clips. My 1979 Sprint Veloce had the 4-1 with catalytic convertor until the exhaust manifold cracked (which was common) and I replaced it with a ROW with catalytic convertor system. Apparently it pulls hot air from the manifold back into the intake. I can't imagine that it had any real function, especially on cars equipped with a catalyst. I loved the car and put serious mileage on the car over a few years as I commuted almost an hour to work. I remember a local Alfa pars dealer convinced me to install the cast iron Euro headers that were standard on the European models. I wasn't expecting much but was astonished to get almost another 5 mpg as well as better \"drivability!\" \r\n\r\nThe car handled beautifully and was very fun, but I had to start going to customer sites and received a company car as a result. I sold the Alfa in a moment of weakness and have regretted it ever since. It was really a wonderful car and I suppose if I could find another of the earlier body style in maroon, I would have to think hard about it. The only real weakness I found in the car was the drive shaft which turns at engine speed.
