You still see them on the track in vintage racing events and the virtually unbreakable rear ends allow you to really throw them into the corners. I put the Nexen tires on also for their good handling reputation. Putting in the heater after the car is done is not going to be fun. Regarding steering conversion, the wiring for turn signals does run through the stator tube inside the steering column. I do not believe it is possible to retain the signal switch as original due to the very different connection from the column to the rack. If you want to maintain originality and are willing to replace every moving part in the front suspension including the steering box internals, you can remove a huge amount of center slop that the cam and peg system acquires over the years due to wear. Mine improved from about 3 inches of slop to less than an inch. RW little is the best in the business, they coat things for the Navy that have to endure extreme ocean conditions. Once the metal is bare the paint particles are electrically charged and the part being painted is electrically grounded. The effect is to pull the paint onto the surface where it is them baked on at temperatures of hundreds of degrees. The result is phenomenal, you can hit it with a hammer and it won't chip, and I have never seen anything they have done rust. We did the whole body, top and bottom, all the fenders and doors. One tip however is not to use it on wire wheels unless you never want to adjust the spokes again. All you have to do is perform a \"Search\" of sold TR3A's on this site. To get into the $30K range, you need the build records, and the car needs to match the build records. and have some provenance. TR3's at the high end of the price range also usually have all the weather gear, etc. An original car, restored to the max, but without history and missing key identifying plates/numbers, is just a restored car. That said, this one is very nice! \r\n\r\nI liked the way the seller conducted the auction. and liked his answers. I'm sure the car was beyond reproach in his local area. That said, on the world stage, the value usually follows provable originality.
