It had a horrible hood scoop on it and an Earl Schieb paint job, ugly olive green. After fitting it with new tires and a proper balance, I drove it up to 128mph one evening.\r\n\r\nGod I was a stupid kid.\r\n\r\nThe second one I owned was bought well into adulthood, a forest green example with no rust and properly refurbished and maintained over the years. I enjoyed the second one for fourteen years before finally selling it.\r\n\r\nThis one...is drop dead gorgeous. I love the unusual color and the offset of the hardtop painted slightly darker. The photo gallery is breath-taking; I think I noticed one nut corroded somewhere. \r\n\r\nTo my mind, this is an exceptional example, something to be garage-kept but for the finest of days, a car to be shown and win trophies with. \r\n\r\nYet, it must be driven! It must be enjoyed behind the wheel!\r\n\r\nWhat a lovely example. He had plans to restore this car and they discovered it was a rare Balmoral Grey/Azure Blue car. I also own the exact car since 1975 here in San Diego. I had just fully restored my Balmoral Grey car, #1789. I helped consult on the details, especially to get the color as correct as possible.\r\n\r\nNorm Miller and Rootes records show only 27 were built with the 76 paint code. Note that the hardtop is actually a Rootes, Sunbeam body color. Tommy Shelby was the main body and build worker. The engine and drivetrain was done by a Well known mechanic also in San Diego who was a Shelby Cobra expert.\r\n\r\nThis Tiger was a very expensive build.
