I\u2019ve owned several \u201971 MoPars (including my current Charger), as well as, assisted in the restoration of a few more (2 of which were \u201971 \u2018Cuda big-block drop-tops). While other manufacturers were dialing-back performance (and, options, to some degree) for the \u201971 model year (due, largely, to increasing pressure from the insurance industry), for Chrysler, it was, by-&-large, the last\ud83d\udce3hurrah of the outrageously\ud83d\ude0ecool performance\ud83c\udfc1stuff for which they had been so well known! The high-winding 340 is a screamer, for sure! It is, also, a very well-balanced powertrain. This particular \u2018Cuda is so nicely; so desirably; optioned! It\u2019s a most worthy representative of the final vestiges of that initial \u201csupercar era!\u201d \r\n\r\n\u2026And, regarding those billboard stripes, which I think are graphically\ud83d\udc4d\ud83c\udffbfantastic, I can, from personal experience, relate (in regard to the resto of one of the aforementioned \u201971 \u2018Cudas) that, putting them on properly, is a time\u23f3-&-labor-intensive job, however, ultimately, rewarding following completion of the \u201cproject!\u201d What I had heard regarding the manner in which they came into being was that a university student (who was an apprentice in the graphics department) designed them, and, upon approval, they went into production. The application process, however, was a task of Herculean proportions, which is, especially problematic in an assembly-line environment, where time\u23f1\ufe0fis\ud83d\udcb8money! \u2026And, the unhappy manager(s)/foremen of the Final Line/Car Conditioning Dept. sent an \u201cunhappy\u201d memo stating \u201cNever design anything of that nature again\u201d (or, words to that effect)!\r\n\r\nPS In the FWIW Dept., I am, also, a fan of the super-sized-car-model-kit-parts-trees adorning the side of that building! \u2019Tis a fantastic backdrop to a fantastic car!
