It is of SA manufacture so maybe they didn't follow LR's date for changing models over, which would be my guess. Have a customer that has one of these that was manufactured in SA. Has many very cool expedition features specific to Africa not found on British or Santana's. Looks like this rig could use a set of new rear springs or a set of military rear shackles to get the ass end up a bit. Rear springs are the heavy duty version not the station wagon ones. Could use a Salisbury rear axle if you wanted to add a heap of durability if you are planning on getting off into the bush a ways which is what you should be doing with this rig. Chassis looks 100% solid. I bought a 109, 11a three years ago in Capetown South Africa. It is a 4 door with the rear facing seats with a \"Chev\" engine as they are called in South Africa, we Yanks call them \"Stove Bolt Six's\". My mechanic at the time faced a rats nest of wiring which he renewed as per factory spec from the ground up. It runs well and because of Willy's lung cancer death (which I believe was caused by using brake cleaner in a tiny enclosed garage), any new servicing will be done a Rover Land, a specialist near our home. \r\n\r\nMy big dilemma is now past ownership of the title to the car. I now have a bill if sale from a kid who says he bought it from a guy who bought it from a guy who bought it from a guy etc. I can easily \"junk\" it and start over which will be picked up and an immediate cloud will pass over a clean, never in a accident, vehicle as far as I can see. Just where do I start? The Sa Motor vehicle Dept seems willing to work with me as they do have the ownership now on record of all previous owners.
