However my father owned a 69 Riviera with the same color combination ( except the vynil roof top one the Riviera was lighter like white ). \r\nDepending on the light, shades goes from gold to green and it is in the flesh the most striking color I have ever seen on a factory car. It brings a lot of charisma and set the car above the others. We always got compliments about it and some would ask if it was a customized color. \r\nWith regret the Riviera is no longer with us like my dad, but 25 years later it is a color I am still thinking about. It was replaced for a black 412. Italian leather smells is magic and you could look for details in the engine bay for hours. However we never had as much fun as we did in our 430ci Riviera. Green light start was so brutal, I can imagine how good this car sounds and feel like. Being so lighter and more powerful than the Riv... , it must be a pure blast ! In 1986 I went to a trade college in Oklahoma. I was from Buffalo NY and my roommate Joe, was from Chicago. Joe had a 69 GS Stage 1 that had a 455 built to the wall. For some unknown reason, he would let me drive it when he wasn't. School was on break and Joe was back home on vacation, so I was driving the GS. My irresponsible 18 year old self was in NO condition to drive and I was in area of town I had NO business being in. In the passenger seat was my friend egging me on and in the back seat was another friend passed out with about a case of Milwaukee's Best of empties rattling around him. Looking in the rear view mirror through a huge cloud of tire smoke, I saw the flashing red and blues. The judicial system was swift and efficient with me. I lost my license for 6 months and paid my dues. During the time I had my license revoked, I got in some other trouble and decided Oklahoma just wasn't for me so I moved to Washington state.\r\n\r\nFast forward to 2017. I went to get my licence renewed in Washington (for the sixth time since I lived here) and was told they would renew it, but I had to clear something up in Oklahoma or they would suspend it after 45 days. So, I call OK and it turns out since I had my license suspended and then moved, I never paid the $103 license reinstatement fee. Washington and Oklahoma had just linked their computers up. So, even after 31 years, a stupid DUI is still following me around. Don't drink and drive.\r\nAnd Joe, if your are on BaT, I am sorry about getting your car impounded and thanks for not getting too pissed at me.
