When things stop getting driven regularly I have to move on as it kills me to see anything sitting around. Nonetheless, I absolutely love this E36 - it is the most neutral and confidence inspiring car I've driven. A delightfully analog experience from the sadly bygone days of BMWs with little grills.\r\n\r\nIt is of course let down by the common E36 issues like delaminating door cards and new parts becoming harder to find. But, I've addressed most of the weak points to enable long weekends of spirited canyon/mountain driving.\r\n\r\nBeyond the photos I've posted several videos to be as honest and informative as possible about this BMW. Most of the videos are very long and dry since intended for serious bidders as opposed to entertainment. I have a 3\" binder of maintenance records which was far too many to photograph so that video covers the highlights but is still nearly 30 mins. Like all but one of my listings this is a No Reserve auction - someone is going to win this car. Both are so minor you don't really need to add fluid. You might get a drop off PS fluid on the ground but never even noticed oil.\r\n\r\nPS pump is relatively easy to replace but could certainly wait. I would have done it during rack swap but didn't realize it was leaking until shop doing the alignment afterwards mentioned it. They all do that eventually for whatever reason - age, heat, etc. combined with shrinking vinyl, failing adhesive, and disintegrating fibers of the panel itself.\r\n\r\nThere are literally dozens of versions of these panels depending on color, material, airbags, etc. BMW no longer sells this specific type as most are NLA. I've looked sporadically for years but never tracked one down. These were so cheap for so long that unless a total garage queen most of them ended up used and abused. Parts and maintenance costs are fairly reasonable but these were simply not valuable enough to warrant the investment from most owners.\r\n\r\nI've never taken the time to add it up - but this car has almost certainly had more spent in maintenance and repairs than the initial $44K sticker. BMW sold a lot of E36 M3s but finding one that has actually been both driven and loved its whole life is extremely difficult.\r\n\r\nValues are finally catching up and in my experience you can get out what you put in. Speaker cutouts are a more common modification as that is just simple holes that the speaker grille/surround will cover.\r\n\r\nSo, even if you bought this and modified for both airbag & speakers the driver and passenger would no longer match.
