I have added the K+N myself for extra comfort as there was originally a small brass mesh vent threaded in there. There is absolutely no oil spraying anywhere from this innovative device. The stock airbox with filter would not fit with this setup however there is another cover that flatracer made which goes over the catch can that I had installed earlier however there was no suitable way to attach the precious R90S starter cover badges so I put the original one on. I like to make my period custom bikes easily identifiable by the iconic model badges they wear. Then sold to another fellow who had it until 2020 when it was sold to the fellow I bought it from who only had it a few weeks and wisely decided it was a bridge too far for him.\r\n\r\nHere is a list of the work I did:\r\n\r\n First I had the engine trans and final drive sent out to a detail shop and had them professionally thoroughly scrubbed clean. The engine frame and drivetrain are original. Lester mag wheels were added back in the day. Here is a list of what I did to it during a 2 year $25,000+ custom build for a great customer who wanted the coolest period custom R90S we could build. He bought the Tom Cutter R100/7 I sold on Bat on 8/27/21 to warm his heart while we built this bike. Well this set the bar for this build right to the top as he was riding around on that bike and soon comparing the finished R90S to it. When the SOLARBEAMER R90S was finished he sold me the R100/7 back which I still own. Eventually he sold me the SOLARBEAMER to launch a new endeavor for himself.\r\n$1700 of Flatracer parts added: short front fender, triple tree, top nut, fork brace, seat and cowl, all painted in Merecedes Benz AGM Solarbeam yellow pearl paint. Luftmeister mufflers Flatracer crankcase vent catch can, R90S handlebars, gas cap, fork top caps, stainless battery tray, stainless axels all from Flatracer custom BMW motorcycle parts. \r\n\r\n Frame and other components painted Satan Black. New wedgetail ignition system from Tom Cutter. New Brembo brake disc rotors from Euromotoelectrics. New front caliper pistons and seals, new rear brake shoes, custom CNC machined BMW emblems from Italy, Hagon shocks, progressive front fork springs, fork seals, thunderchild diode board, new centerstand, Malossi red air filters, Hoske header pipes, Benchmark Albert mirrors, Boxer cafe R90S fairing shaved by Motogrotto, custom fitted windscreen by Gufstafson, bullet front turn indicators integrated into windscreen, Nothing has been chopped cut or hacked off. Nothing is preventing this bike from going back to stock configuration other than time and money. All of the custom work is reversible.\r\n \r\n Led Zeppelin rear turn signals, Motogrotto custom rear fender eliminator, Motogrotto custom stinger license brake light extension fabricated at my esteemed colleagues shop. Top end removed inspected measured true to specs resealed with new gaskets pushrod seals stainless pushrod tubes. Inspection specs showed motor had approximately 10,000 miles on it just broke in which was what the speedo number is consistent with. Boxer metal airbox delete panel, new wheel bearings in powder coated Lester mag wheels, New Conti attack tires front 3120 date rear 4720 date, 33/11 rear, all new cables, petcocks, new starter relay, headlight relay turn signal relay, battery, horn all new. All new engine wiring harnesses. Custom fabbed rear lighting harness. Optional removable sundial pictured on rear seat cowl is removable via double sided tape for shows and photo shoots.\r\n\r\n Everything was painted Mercedes Benz AGM Solarbeam Yellow Pearl. All Solarbeam parts were bought new except tank which was in excellent shape. The paint work alone cost $4000. Speedo was rebuilt by Morris and co, at West Valley Instruments. A new speedo gauge cover was also installed.\r\n\r\n This was an extensive 2 year custom build I carried out with only the best available custom parts along with many I fabricated myself in the secret underground motorcycle bunker known as Motogrotto. There may not be many available receipts around for some of this as our wives would kill us if they knew how much we spent... I ride the bike often and have put 1200 miles on it. There are no leaks. Everything was inspected and addressed during the rebuild so this bike is ready to Rock and Roll. All splines were inspected as good and lubed. It is perfection...This was done before the tank was painted. I am holding a mirror to shine the sun in the tank. Note the proper way I have left the opening lip in bare metal with a thin film of grease on it so it won't rust. This is the proper way to paint a fuel tank opening so the paint doesn't chip and flake. Most do not seem to pay attention to this but this is how I have been doing it from day 1. That's how I roll. @mphjr I have measured the seat height at 32\" off the centerstand. When I sit on the bike it goes down about another 1/4\" or so. The shocks can be adjusted lower and shorter shocks with shorter front springs can also be fitted to bring it down to earth to your liking. The best of both worlds. The performance, suspension and electrics have had minor upgrades for reliability, electrical and handling improvements. The engine, frame and drivetrain are original and all triple matching numbers. The styling has been enhanced without giving up any of the original engineering benefits. I have ridden the bike extensively throughout this 3 year process to try to expose any weaknesses that may have come up and it is turnkey. To be clear, this bike is ready to circle the globe. The Hagon rear shocks and Progressive front spring and rebuild work like a charm together. This bike handles terrific and with those magnificent Dellorto carbs it really moves out.\n\n The red pinstriping on the tank and wheels was done by hand and matches the original red striping color used on the Daytona Orange R90S paint schemes. The correct R90S 33/11 rear mates to the correct rebuilt speedo ratio w=1.112. The Albert bar end mirrors from Benchmarkworks are the best I have found money can buy for my bikes. The field of view and lack of vibration are superb. This is a bike that will endure through the decades and just to see it in the morning before you take it for a spin is quite a thrill. For those interested I have managed to dig up an extensive list of invoices of work I carried out which is far too long to post so if you hit the contact seller button up top I would be glad to share it although the photographs and review make it obvious.
