I\u2019m sure some things are missing but the binder in picture 109 provides a detailed record of the car all the way back to importation. \n\nBased on the records, I am just the sixth individual owner since 1984. Mileage on the car has accumulated steadily over its life rather than all at the beginning only small amounts since. In my 5 years with the car, I have added 16k miles, 10k after the engine rebuild. It\u2019s a very peasant car to drive despite its age and always generates smiles, thumbs up and positive comments. \n\nOne local BAT member had the car checked out this week. I will leave it to him to comment if he wants but I think it\u2019s fair to say he found the car to be presented honestly. The Engineers and Designers were throwing everything at their higher end products to outgun Porsche and gallop past stodgy \u201cold man\u201d Mercedes and the M635 is the showcase for this brilliance and execution.\n\nSpeaking of performance and thinking about benchmarks, the Porsche 930 was the halo car back in the 1980s when Dr. Ferdinand was able to squeeze 300hp out of their Turbo flat-6. So many have forgotten that the M88/3 was right there on power output at 286hp from a similar sized engine WITHOUT a turbo. It took MB a few more years to get to 300hp and it was from an engine the size of Alaska but mated to a lazy automatic in the 560SECSEL.
