Still, the most fun road trip I have ever taken...and getting the Tii on the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the mountains, the twisties, feeling the pull of second gear in the curves, the sure, driftable handling, impossibly good visibility and interior room, huge trunk, good mpg, and thumbs up....all reminded me of just how special the Tii is. The car, as someone else mentioned, smooths out around 75mph, and easily pulls hard to 85mph while passing. If you are thinking you need one, trust me, you'll love it.\n\nThis car looks great, honestly, to my trained eye. The color is super, it \"looks\" right with the FPS wheels (which I have and love) and all the important bits are there. Yes, there are some things to remediate which are described, no, you don't get to lord your non-snorkel Tii over others like I do (haha), you need an Etsy carpet kit, some other mechanical fettling, and the paint is not perfect. But then again, if it was a perfect car, would you really drive it to The Vintage? Probably not, as some people I know have proven. \n\nThe main thing you want to be concerned with, as far as I am concerned, with Tii's, is rust. And this car certainly appears to be in excellent condition as far as that goes. Yes, the trunk should be painted yellow not black, but the shock towers, rockers, underside, sills, etc. all look better that 90% of the cars I see, and that can't be taken away from it. It just saves labor cost by doing them all at once. I have now traced it to a large voltage drop on the positive wire from fusebox to fuel pump. The theory is that I am not getting enough juice at fuel pump so that when I am going up a hill under heavy load, fuel delivery is not quite enough and the car hesitates. Ever-increasing parts prices and availability add considerably to costs. \n\nMuch of the work I do was formerly the responsibility of the owner. Performing these \"shade-tree\" tasks were part of the joys of owning a classic.\n\nLately, as prices rise and collectors are entering the ranks of ownership, fewer and fewer do their own work. This detracts from what I feel is the spirit of ownership - especially the 2002, the car I loved first.\n\nThat said, I'm glad this car's new owner is among those who will do the work himself. \n\nThough not the new \"high-water-mark\" for tii roundies, a fair price, nonetheless.
