The Zagato style seats are available from a number of sources. Slapshifter is correct that a front grill is missing. It wasn't there when I purchased the car in 1981. The tail lights on the rear hood is a distinguishing feature of the early Record Monzas. Some publications have a photo of Carlo Abarth showing the Bialbero engine in a car at a show. The car in the photo has the tail lights on the engine hood. The Abarth ID tag is missing. It is usually mounted on a raised surface just rearward of where the exhaust exits the engine compartment. There is a photo of this area in my photos. It is the second one after the front hood area photo. At the bottom of the photo is the area where the Abarth ID tag would be. There are no holes where the tag would be mounted and no evidence of the holes being filled. I have seen other Abarth cars that lacked the Abarth ID tag. Re the coil mount. I have seen photos of other cars with the coil in various places. Not sure just which is the \"correct\" place. It is correct that the lower fan shroud is not in place. I had it at one time but haven't been able to find it. It would be easy to fabricate one and install it. This is indeed the \"20th\" car on my listing when I separate identified \"Record Monza\" examples from other forms of Abarth 750/850/etc. The problem with this is that are a good number of tbd (to be determined) as to which body was fitted by Zagato, even when we can pretend to know a car was bodied by Zagato. That is not the only source of \"error\" or simply incomplete information.\n\nThe data collected has come primarily from incomplete ledger data held by Zagato, incomplete ledger information from Abarth and then there is independent research, some of which comes from historical images seen where an Italian license plate can be seen and researched for a fee. And then there are unsubstantiated reports that may or may not add to production numbers. Some cars may have been born in one configuration and then become rebodied by Zagato as Record Monza at a later date. I believe I have seen at least one of those.\n\nWhat do we know, and \"Why\"? I am not counting two very early (1956/1957) chassis numbers that seem to appear only on homologation documents as samples. I am counting a prototype (chassis 342819) that did not and does not truly resemble the definitive production \"RM\" examples. Chassis 373358 and 443262 are each known through independent studies and yet do not appear on either of the incomplete ledgers from Zagato or Abarth. There may well be others that will become identified one day? If we were to go by the Zagato ledger info shared to date, this car would be the 15th car on my list. I can see that future studies may well push the car down to 30th one day, but probably not much beyond that?\n\nRegarding the ID plate \"issue\". It is not an issue. When Abarth maintained the original engine pairing with a platform supplied by Fiat, they often retained the Fiat ID plate on the firewall. If the engine was changed during the car's build, the Fiat ID plate would no longer show the correct engine number and an Abarth plate would be supplied instead of the Fiat plate. It is not correct to have both a Fiat plate AND an Abarth ID plate, even though there are many \"restorations\" that present with both ID plates. In those situations, one or the other plate is faux, sometimes both! This car (and seller) is making no pretense. The engine is not the original and the car has no ID plate. Simple as that.\n\nIf I had to guess, I'd say this car (chassis 528191) was probably born with a push-rod engine number \"57____\" and can think of the bialbero 850 as being an improvement over the original which went missing a long time ago. Some of the story on this particular car is covered in the description. To condense it, I purchased the car in mid 1981 and immediately started preparations to make it into a vintage race car. I found and purchsed a very rare Bialbero, twin cam engine in early 1982. It's first vintage race was in the fall of 1892. Throughout the 80's it was raced numerous times each year in SVRA and HSR races throughout the Southeast. Because it had become quite valuable, the Bialbero engine was removed and stored in the late 80's. It was replaced with a modified pushrod Abarth engine. In 1989 or early 1990 and oiling failure damaged the pushrod engine. It was removed and a refurbishment of the car was started. Other projects intervened and it was put in storage late 1990. 19 years later it was removed from storage. The Bialbero engine put on a stand and serviced and test run, it was reinstalled in the car and the car was driven on a short test drive. At 86 years of age I decided to stop any further work and offer it for sale. The missing pieces were missing when the car was purchased in 1981.\r\nHopefully I have answered your questions. The Record Monza are perhaps a bit more diverse simply because of the variety of engine configurations used in a variety of sizes beginning 1959. Variety also comes to the RM as with the Double Bubble because Abarth shifted away from Zagato during 1958 for the production of the \"Zagato\" double bubble bodies and Abarth did the same with the Record Monza bodies during 1960 as the RM design evolved outside of Zagato. Some cars are badged Zagato (undoubtedly by agreement and with a fee paid to Zagato?) when many bodies were actually made elsewhere by others. This car has a 1958 Zagato body from early in production of the RM at a time when Zagato was no longer making many (or any?) of the Double Bubble bodies. When I count the cars that we can identify as Zagato RM examples, the study becomes very complicated at about the 120th example because production of those bodies also began to move away from Zagato during the following months of 1960. So, this example may be one of fewer than 100 similar cars made 1958 and 1959 with either pushrod or bialbero 750cc engines fitted. I believe each body was made with the characteristics necessary to allow the fitting of a bialbero engine but many were delivered by Abarth with pushrod engines instead. Zagato referred to these bodies as \"Tipo B\" but I have come to understand that Zagato did not always note that detail in their ledger once they were no longer differentiating between the RM or the DB body styles.
