Just a note on the wood floor it is all custom done, not a kit and not a sheet of plywood with slats. We got nice Oak, cut It all out on my grandpas vintage 1938 Delta Table saw, channeled it for the slats, tinted some Lin seed oil don\u2019t really like varnish on the wood scratches etc etc, especially on a truck like this and you can reapply Lin Seed as time goes, anyways fit all together, built a support frame since these trucks didn\u2019t come with a wooden beds. I think it turned out pretty nice IMO, and easy to care for. I know the saw doesn\u2019t have anything to do with it, but I love to use his tools on our stuff, I have a chair hanging at the end of the shop that he used to always sit on, working on cars, garden, fishing, it\u2019s a cute little thing metal with a green old pad, from the 40\u2019s. Anyways I named our business Denwerks to honor him. He was the backbone to our family, just an awesome gentleman, I can\u2019t hold a candle to anything he has done. They came from Denmark -DEN in 1909, and he was the hardest working - WERKS and honest guy I ever knew -so I made up the word! DENWERKS. For the past several years I have used one (here in Newport Beach) as a Home depot get'r (hey I live in a city) my taste has morph'd quite a bit over the years (yeah I am old).. When I first started driving old trucks I enjoyed the Patina/ original look but it wore off quickly probably cause I live in Newport beach where everyone (even gardners) drive clean black Mercedes!.. One of my neighbors is Barry Mcguire as you can imagine he typically drives his S65 (yes black and always clean) just the nicest man you would never meet. So driving a patina truck kinda wore off for me.. my last truck was a 52 Ford with a 351 (steve schmidt motor) that I found used on craigslist (yeah I am cheap).. the motor was a screamer- the Ford flathead was not my thing (yeah I have one in my 47 Sportsman but hey I only take that one out a few times a year). I wanted to drive this thing at least a few times a week and of course to the dump! So I did the body work myself (dirty job) and then I had a friend shoot it in a satin color - then I took it to the upholstery shop for a leather seat, leather panels (like the smell of leather) and german weave carpets. The dash I had wood grained by the same guy who did my Sportsman (maple grain) I am really into details and for me, the exterior of a truck should be gritty but the interior should be like a jewelry box- motor should be all business and of course suspension is modern with disc brakes / power steering. These ole trucks for me are the \"cats meow\"....I sold my ford to a pretty famous car guy (I get bored).. and now I am building a 30's truck..this time a Mopar cause of the rarity of the mopars and yes I am keeping it all mopar.. found a hemi motor (yes on craigslist) off a late model challenger with computer and trans.. she is now running and just working on body and paint.. soon on the streets of Newport!!
