Other than the 900, these were fast heavy bikes that led the transition from UJM, e.g. Kaw Z1 to the later open sport bike like the GSXR1100. There was a lot of experimentation in the era, turbos, 4 valve heads, water cooling, single shock rear suspension and 16in front wheels.
