I had just finished unloading and was going into my truck when I heard a sound that was mesmerizing. All of a sudden, I heard a loud pop and all the power had gone out and the winds started to roar. I jumped into my truck and began witnessing a force of wind over 200 miles an hour that picked up the large enclosed trailer that was sitting behind my pick up truck and threw it into the back of my truck. At this point I was watching large items being hurled across my field of vision that left me stunned and in complete disbelief. \r\nIn just 45 seconds, which felt like an eternity, I got out of my truck to witness what looked like a bomb going off in Hiroshima, the devastation in the neighborhood was beyond my imagination.\r\nThere were so many trees scattered all around my building that I had to go through my office and jump over large logs and trees to enter the courtyard of my home. I looked up to see a large hole in the roof of my home and most of the shingles taken off. The force of wind ripped part of my roof, which created a huge pressure in the house that blew out all of my soffits along with breaking the doors into my home that allowed the winds to go straight through my house .\r\nThere were three sets of solid teakwood French doors that had the handles broken off and the door frames broken that allowed the tornado winds to rip through my home.\r\nMy autistic daughter was sitting in her bed unharmed, and my wife was screaming in the house for me as she was trying to hold a set of French doors closed to keep all of our furniture from blowing out of the house to the backyard, which was now a pile of huge oak trees that were down. The inside of my house didn\u2019t look any different from the outside. All of the wall art was off, and the cabinets were broken.\r\nIt has taken a team of 10 people working 10 hours a day for the last 2 1/2 days just to get the outside of the yard cleaned up. Fortunately, a roofing company had come by with a team of people that could cover up the roof and seal it. \r\nI am so grateful to the governor of our state, working with all of the utility agencies along with our neighborhood help in order to get cleanup so quickly after this event.\r\nThere were many homes in my neighborhood that suffered far more damage than mine, and there were many people who had died in our community from this tornado, I should say tornadoes since there were 126 of them that landed in our area in just a two hour period of time.\r\nI am grateful to my God who kept us safe and for what little damage was done in comparison to some people, losing their homes completely and their lives.\r\nThank you to BaT and the community for their care and support, it is much appreciated.\r\nWe are now rebuilding\ud83d\ude0e", "likes": 25, "timestamp": 1728909848, "type": "comment"}, {"id": 15846581, "authorName": "Rpl1", "authorUrl": "https://bringatrailer.com/member/rpl1/", "bidAmount": 0, "content": "@Tigerman1953 If I can speak for the entire bat community, we are all very saddened for your tragic loss!
