I\u2019ve honestly gotten tired of seeing one after another older Beemers - name the model - converted to an endless stream of kinda the same end result by doing nothing more than buying and bolting on stuff Antoine can buy. \r\n\r\nMore than refreshing to see someone who has gone to the stuff on the shelf, the parts bins and just know what can be mixed from 30 plus years of BMW models and parts plus a few goodies that anyone can buy (it;s part of life these days) and make it work on a higher level.\r\n\r\nOf all the headlights and instrument clusters BMW has EVER OFFERED in my opinion, the /5 series (1970-73) is the most beautiful and functional. Oddly enough, BMW finally brought that to the failing R18 series about 6 years too late.\r\n\r\nCoupled with the R90S/R100S/RS/RT tank, dual disc brakes, Euro bars, mixed era controls and switches, simple and clean rear sets, Reynolds\u2019s ride off stand and a host of other goodies.\r\n\r\nIf this were my build, and I\u2019ve done a number for customer but mostly long ago I would have included /5 headlight brackets, a chrome /5 rear wheel hubcap to compliment the tank and fenders, and kept the entire exhaust stainless steel (the headers are) or done it all in industrial coatings black and yeah a few more little touches.\r\n\r\nBut this is not my build and my hat is still tipped to @Gillishousebmw for this beauty - I believe and hope it brings very strong money and finds an excellent new owner who rides and shares it frequently.", "likes": 2, "timestamp": 1744588739, "type": "comment"}, {"id": 17349747, "authorName": "billpayne", "authorUrl": "https://bringatrailer.com/member/billpayne/", "bidAmount": 0, "content": "Just really clean!
