The car here is that rare example that is the opposite of what often appears here on BaT...a car that is mechanically sorted and running strong with a lot of patina. We just had a couple of cars come through that were cosmetically gorgeous but with any number of hidden demons (Lagonda, Aston Virage) that could end up being money pits. What I can say is the seller is 100% honest and upfront about everything with this car, the car has tremendous potential for someone who loves Espadas, engine started nicely and ran very smoothly and without internal noises (he did start it before I got there but I felt no temperature I from the motor by touch and we didn\u2019t start it for at least 30-40 minutes) The interior smelled ok, has an old car shabby feel but mostly everything looked great for its age and with a disassemble, clean up and put back together, it would be very presentable. I only noticed 1 thing missing which was the little cover in the hatch area. \r\nIn summary, someone who wants to disassemble, clean everything up and put back together, new clutch, possibly other repairs, obviously complete paint job...this is a very cool car. Same for a paint job.\r\n\r\nI don't know why people still think the restoration of the bodywork of an old school Lamborghini would cost multiple times more than the restoration of an old Ford Mustang. In fact it costs the same, because for the welder and panel beater it doesn't matter if he works on a Lamborghini or a Mustang or a Toyota Corolla. The labour is the same.\r\n\r\nThe interior is still charming and not has to be replaced. The engine is running. Everything else can be refurbished and that would be a nice project where the whole family could be involved when cleaning parts. That keeps the costs low.\r\n\r\nWhen I see S2 and S3 \"project cars\" for 90k bugs, then your S1 in a solid and honest condition and with a clean history should easily bring 100k. IMHO.\r\n\r\nI've bought a 1986 Countach QV just a half year ago, and therefore sadly I dont have the budget to bid on your Espada.
