I had both the engine and - for a very brief period - a Mangusta. The engine came to me from Colin Chapman at Lotus where it had been intended for a stillborn Lotus CanAm project. The Vallelunga chassis and subsequent Mangusta backbone chassis were \u2018inspired\u2019 by Colin Chapman\u2019s Lotus Elan. This engine was an all aluminum pushrod V8 whose design was \u2018inspired\u2019 by the Ford 289.
