The car was refreshed at XKs Unlimited in 2006 with a new wiring loom, starter, brake calipers, carb, ball joints, heater core, and loads of other stuff. The accident in 2007 was the right side wing, headlight and running board. No mention of anything else. I don't know anything about the piping. Nothing else listed in the repair receipt. The horn button is under the dash by the driver door, and it is functional. Re: the absence of piping under the cowl and tub. My guess is that when this car was repainted [according to the Morgamville Registry it was originally cream], whoever did the work wasn't a Morgan expert. Not unusual but might be worth double-checking the sill boards for sponginess. I've seen those kind of cloth quasi widescreens before and it's not a bad option. And, the sidescreens at least have the pieces to be recovered if desired. I'd be a wee bit concerned about the bonnet fit though probably can be corrected by someone who knows how these mysterious pieces move around. Though this has been fitted with a Weber two barrel, I doubt it's a GT engine per se. No big deal IMO. All in all, if I wasn't down to my +8 and a new Toyota GR86, I might be tempted cause I do miss my agile little 4/4. Yes, @morgannut, I've considered simply driving it from San Diego to Poulsbo, Washington. Frankly, those tires don't look that bad to me either. But I'll want to check them out in person.\r\n\r\n10 years ago I drove a recently purchased 1967 Intermeccanica Italia that hadn't been on the road for 5 years from Pittsburg to Park City, UT with only minor incidents, but that car needed a day's work and couldn't be reached with a hauler where it was, so the plan back then was simply to get it running properly, get as far west as I could, and if it broke down, have AAA haul it to a shop and a hauler pick it up there and bring it home to me. Surprisingly I made it all the way in 3 days. \r\n\r\nThis time I think I'll just take the trailer down and bring it home properly. That may be an adventure in itself! Plus there's an aging mother-in-law in the San Diego area to be visited, so the trip makes a bit more sense.\r\n\r\nThanks to all - even @Rewindr, who made me pay a decent price.
